9th International Congress of Phoenician and Punic Studies, Mérida, Spain (22-26.10.2018)

Imaging Phoenician and Punic coins at the Royal Library of Belgium, Brussels

The Portable Light Dome system, aka 3D mini-dome developed at the KU Leuven and currently used at the Royal Museums of Art and History for the recording of small inscribed objects and sealings, has been used to image the Phoenician-Punic coin collection of the Royal Library of Belgium.

The collection comprises 217 coins in bronze, silver and gold/electrum of Phoenician or Punic type.

 

The results of this joint effort by the museum and the library will be posted on the website. In the meantime, see the blog entry on the webpages of the IAP7/14 Greater Mesopotamia project at the RMAH for impressions of the recording sessions.

1st Amphoras in the Phoenician-Punic World Congress, Ghent (15-17.12.2016)

The first APPWC international congress took place at the university of Ghent.

The 4th network meeting of the DFG-Netzwerk „Von Kanaan nach Gibraltar und zurück – die Phönizier im Mittelmeerraum“ took place at Ghent University, Belgium.

CAPP.be presents itself in a poster at the Journées d'étude: Les Phéniciens, les Puniques et les autres : échanges et identités entre le monde phénico-punique et les différents peuples de l’Orient ancien et du pourtour méditerranéen


Organised by Luisa Bonadies, Iva Chirpanlieva and Elodie Guillon, in collaboration with the Laboratoire Orient et Méditerranée (UMR 8167/équipe Mondes Sémitiques) and the support of the laboratoires ARSCAN (UMR 7041), PLH-ERASME ( EA 4601)(Université de Toulouse 2 Jean Jaurès), Centre Camille Jullian (UMR 7299) and the Institut Universitaire de France.

CAPP meeting, Tunis (26-27.03.2015)

A two-day meeting of the directors of the national commitees took place in Tunis on 26 and 27 March 2015. Aims of the meeting are to discuss the progress of the project, international collaborations and new partnerships.

Pottery from Uzita temporarily stored in Gent was discussed in a paper by A. Perugini and K. Ryckbosch (2015) and with R. Docter (2017)
